Tips and Tricks for Garment Remodelling

Updated: Oct 20, 2022

Have you ever had a piece of clothing that you loved but outgrew? Or maybe you've stained it and can't wear it anymore. Or perhaps you just don't like the way it looks on you. Fear not! You can remodel your garment to fit your current style and size.

You can have a whole new wardrobe staple with just a few simple tips and tricks without spending much money. So read on for some great ideas on how to breathe new life into your old clothes.

If you have a pair of pants that you love but don't fit anymore, try wearing them as a high-waisted skirt. Just sew a seam across the top of the pants about an inch below the waistband. Then put on a belt, and voila! You've got a new skirt that fits great and looks great.

If you have a shirt that's too big, you can turn it into a cute new tank top. Just cut off the sleeves and the collar, and then cut the shirt's body down to the size you want. You can also add some embellishments like beads or sequins to really make it your own.

If you have a dress that you don't wear anymore, why not turn it into a cute new top? Just cut off the bottom of the dress (leaving the bodice intact) and then hem the raw edge. You can wear it over a collared shirt or alone as a cute summer top.

If you have an old blouse that you don't wear anymore, try turning it into a cute new sundress. Just cut off the sleeves and the collar, and then cut the body of the shirt down to the size that you want. You can wear it as is or add some embellishments to really make it your own.
